Rand Spero is President of Street Smart Financial LLC, a fee-only financial planning and investment management firm located in Lexington, Massachusetts.
Rand has a background in strategic planning, business, and psychology, which provides a multi-disciplinary approach to financial matters. He successfully completed the Financial Planning program from Boston University and is a board designated CERTIFIED FINANCIALPLANNER™. He is frequently quoted in major publications such as the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Barron’s, and Consumer Reports Money Adviser.
He has worked as an independent strategic planning consultant for major firms such as AT&T, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cellular One, Comcast, John Hancock, Novartis, Time Warner, and Viacom, helping them anticipate future economic trends
Rand conducts financial planning workshops for organizations such as the Tufts University Osher Lifelong Learning Institute and Massachusetts General Hospital. He has taught courses in Competitive Strategic Marketing at Northeastern University Graduate School of Management.
Rand is a member of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA) and the Financial Planning Association (FPA). He is a founding advisory council member for the Clay Center for Young Healthy Minds at Massachusetts General Hospital, and a long-time trustee of the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary.
